Hana Převrátilová-Couturier

I was born for fashion, says about herselfs succesful designer, native of Prague, Hana Převrátilová. Everyone, who is interest in fashion, knows that this assertion is too modest for reflecting the real path, which goes from first designer attempts to design elite. Excepting talent and much needed bit of luck, there is a courage to suceed, to go for goals, endurance and especially lots of hard work.

Slovakia isn´t promised country for fashion designers, and that´s why it´s more difficult to succeed. Hana Převrátilová is a proof that it´s possible. She is part of designers top in Slovakia for two decades. From primary inspiration to the resulting design is her creation in fact a story. Story of initial emotion, work with material, thought.

Hana isn´t only ordinary designer for ordinary consumer. She is an original not only in ideas but also in creating. She realizes volatility of trends and knows that fashion is maybe the fastest passing art. And she sees it as right art. She doesn´t regard the fashion shows as demonstration of collections designed for wearing to work, party or on the streets. Conversely, she points to fine art of her collections, to emotions emiting from it, phylosophy, moods. Her fashion collections are often full of remarkable inspirations, she prefer more avant-garde creation and she doesn´t hesitate to experiment. Anyway, she always engages the attention of proffesional and general public, too. Excepting designs, which intellectually flirt literally with the fine art, she also creates for celebrities and clients, who doesn´t hesitate invest their money in clothes made by native designer.

At the recent Orange fashion show she gave up for auction within charity event „Dresses from the heart“ beautiful red ball gown. Proceeds of the sale was devoted to the Children´s Foundation Cardiocentre. This lovely gesture reveals another face of Hana Převrátilová. She doesn´t forget those who need help. According to her own words she doesn´t insist on tangible success, although each one makes her pleasure. It moves her on. It gives her taste to continue and she believes, that sometime slovak woman will desire to own something from slovak designer as much as from the world one. Despite her modesty she obtained some awards, for example Fashion Personality of the year 2009 or Danube Pearl for greatest contribution to fashion and an award for collection season on Bratislava Fashion Days 2010.

Of her quality testifies also the fact, that she is often invited as a stylist for various TV shows as a Second Wind, Talentmania, Slovakia´s got talent, Bride for a millionaire, Shopping Spree, Big Brother. She worked as a fashion editor at slovak lifestyle monthly magazine for women La Femme, too.

If we mentioned at the beginning that behind every success is a lot of work, than at Hana Převrátilová this is doubly true. Just calculate her activities and their quality shows that she is on the top of slovak fashion designers deserved. And it´s more than certain that she will remain there for a long time.
